Dear Parents and Athletes,
In Term Four we will be delivering what is undoubtedly our most effective and popular Elite Scorers Academy program.
The Scorers Academy Invitational is a program that is designed to teach athletes how to be an effective scorer in game situations. This program is six weeks long with a two hour training session each week. The first hour is focussed on individual skill development drills and the second hour is a formal scrimmage focussing on developing effective game play concepts and skills so that players can become elite level scorers and contributors to teams.
Players nominate as an individual and based on skill and playing standard are placed by Scorers Academy coaches into divisions. We create selected divisions where athletes are very similar in skill standard and physical capacity allowing us to push athletes forward in developing elite standard scoring capabilities and ‘game smarts’. If your child is an elite player in their age group they will be placed with older athletes so that they are pushed to improve.
The weekly scrimmage hour (of the two hour program) includes referees, score bench and statistics to provide athletes with actual statistical data to understand their contribution to their team.
The program is EXCELLENT at teaching athletes HOW TO PLAY and find scoring opportunities in games. This program is only suitable for players who have already been playing club basketball. This program is NOT suitable for beginner players.
The program includes:
Six week program.
Weekly one hour skill development session followed by weekly one hour scrimmage game.
Weekly printed statistical analysis provided to athletes
Coaching player book is provided to athletes
Teams are created by coaches to ensure that games are close and competitive

Sessions begin the week of 28th of October and finished during the week beginning 2nd of December.

Divisions of this program are delivered on the following days or times.
Monday 5pm-7pm
Tuesday 5pm-7pm
Thursday 5pm-7pm
Sunday 8am-10am
Sunday 2pm-4pm
We will position divisions to avoid clashes with WABL trainings and Summer Club Games, so that players have the opportunity to participate in all three opportunities if they wish.
Players will not be told what division they have been selected in until the week prior to the start of the program when we will send out ‘Invitations’ for players to accept a place in the division we have selected for them. The first two trial weeks of the program, we see the players on court and review those divisions to get the best possible opportunity for all players. If the division offered to a player is at a day and time is not possible for them to attend we will provide full refunds to families.
