Scorers Academy began eight years ago doing small group basketball skills sessions and grew into establishing a new four court private venue in Canberra and in the last year, a two court venue here in Mandurah. With the change of income due to the Mandurah Basketball contract not continuing, we cannot continue with the private member venue model. I will be taking a couple of months off and then will restart with small group coaching sessions in September, hosted in other regional venues.
We want to sincerely thank the local basketball community here in Mandurah for making us feel so welcomed and for signing up for our junior development programs and as venue members in such large numbers. We have appreciated the support and have had so much fun.
To work with young people, for them to develop life skills through basketball, is an absolute privilege and we are so grateful for the opportunity.
Our Tuesday scrimmages, open to the public, will continue until Tuesday 24th June and our current junior development programs will continue to their scheduled finish dates.
